“But it’s filled with love that’s grown in southern ground”

Ever since I came to Boston for my cousin’s college graduation in the spring of 1996, I have wanted to move here.  There was just something about it that appealed to me and felt like a place I needed to explore.  I think a good part of it was that it was not New Jersey, but whatever it was it finally brought me here and I’m happy to have called it home for the (somewhat) better part of the last two years.  But there’s a catch – Boston is my home but it is not my permanent home.  I knew and said this to many before I even moved here.  While I love the city and I’m a born and bred northeast girl at heart, I have always longed to live somewhere outside of my comfort zone.  My focus has always been the south because that’s where I know I can find the one thing in life I want to own more than anything  - a house with a porch.

I took the first step by moving to Charlotte but as we know it wasn’t the right place or time for me – my run with Boston just wasn’t complete.  It brought me back because I had some lessons to learn and my dream job to fill.  Now that I’m here and working hard and happily it’s giving me the space to daydream again and fantasize about my life to come.  What it also is giving me is the money to start paying off debts and saving for my future (fingers crossed my stock options bring me millions!)  Repeat with me people – everything happens for a reason.

Daydreaming was ALWAYS a part of my daily life growing up.  I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve been told to get my head out of the clouds, or that I live in my own dream world, yadda, yadda, yadda.  I put the brakes on that a few years ago and damn have I missed it.  Creating a fantasy world inside my head gives me an excitement for the future and for all you non-believers out there many scenarios I’ve created in my head have come to life. I fully plan on this latest one happening as well because it is definitely a keeper.

There really is no harm in daydreaming – what is the harm is not fulfilling those dreams.  Isn’t that the point of life?  So you can work hard to make your dreams come true.  I’m the girl who has always had trouble saving, but now that I have a clear picture in my mind of what I know I want my future to look like, the debt seems to be disappearing a lot quicker and the savings are adding up at a better pace then I’ve ever seen for myself.  All due to the picture in my mind of my house in Franklin, TN (not too far from Music City!), and my dog Riggins by my side.  There are a few other elements added in my dream world but those are most definitely being kept to myself and a few other individuals I trust with my secrets (sometimes you need a little help fulfilling dreams!)

The more people talk around the office about how their biotech related stock bought their houses, etc, the more determined I am to help make my company a success.  One dream fuels another and it’s all just a matter of time.  For now, I’ll keep enjoying Beantown for it’s the place that is bringing me one step closer to my dreams.

I just read a blurb from an email I get from my cousin’s boss about using your imagination and reminded me of your blog. I wholeheartedly agree with both of you! I just love the Abraham-Hicks material as well as Louise A Hay material.

    Keep dreaming, my friend!

    Peace,

    “The Power of Imagination
“The key to manifesting is to see it as a ‘done deal’ ~ to picture the end result from the beginning ~ and hold that vision until it comes to you in real life.”
    ~ Tony Burroughs
Remember when you were a kid and using your imagination was something you did every day? When asked to draw a picture or write a story, remember how easy it was to do?I don’t know about you, but when we were kids we did not have a lot of toys games and objects of entertainment like kids do today. Instead we had to make up pretend games which, in looking back, was a lot of fun. We played school, we played store, we had parades and plays for the neighbors. We had to rely upon our imagination because quite frankly, there were not many other options. Remember being in school and looking out the window and dreaming you were anywhere but there? We used our imagination quite routinely until we were taught to become more cerebral, and when this happened, our strong creative ability started to diminish. Told that daydreaming was “bad” we were instructed to keep our attention in the five sense only real world.

Sadly, unless you start exercising this lost art of imagination you will find that manifesting your desires will often be difficult. It’s not enough to just want something, even if you want it badly! Actually wanting “badly” sends a signal to the Universe that something is “not here yet” and thus sends out the lack signal. And we all know that having a LACK mentality will just bring you more of that. It’s far better to get clear on what you really want, set the intention with conviction that your intention will go out and be “heard” by the benevolent Universe. Then you must trust that the details will be worked out in a series of events that will unfold according to the plan that is right for your soul’s evolution. Keep your eyes open with awareness, as you might be surprised at the synchronicity that shows up.

As you wait (with confidence patience and knowing) you can fire up your imagination in order to get into the feelings of joy as you start to “see” the end result. Close your eyes and pretend that you’ve reached your goal. Look around. What do you see? Listen carefully. What do you hear? Stop and feel your feelings. How do you feel? Get into the feelings of already having what you want. That vibration will speed up the manifesting. Trust me.

During the winter Olympics I watched an interview of Shaun White the amazing Gold Medalist. When asked how he developed his skill he replied, “Every night before I go to sleep I imagine that I am on the slopes and I see and feel my every move” a technique I have no doubt that other successful athletes use. I know that when I decided to run road races years ago, I would often use this technique before falling asleep at night. I would see myself go over the finish line, hear the people clapping, and feel that sense of accomplishment. I continue today to hold my vision for my branching off into a new holistic direction with my nursing. A vision of teaching coaching and inspiring others to wake up to what it takes to achieve wellness of body mind and spirit. And as I remain focused on my goal with complete confidence I must say I am constantly amazed at how things keep “showing up” that are part of the plan unfolding exactly as it is meant to.

Go ahead and start day dreaming again. Pretend that there is a large canvas in front of you and you are holding the palette of paint. Start painting it any way you want. Make it as big as you want and don’t hold back. It’s your design totally. Have fun with it and then step back and watch! You are more powerful than you have been led to believe. Hold your vision and see it done.
